Alex is Dean's thirteen year old little brother and is very good with technology and throughout the series creates useful things for the group to use. He is also very good at controlling his emotions, though he gradually grows more unstable.

Alex is first mentioned running after his brother Dean as they are late for the bus. After the massive hail storm that caused the Highschool bus to crash, Mrs. Wooly, the elementary and middle school bus driver, drove their bus through the entrance of a Greenway superstore putting all of the children out of harm's way.
